Essay

The thesis project is dedicated to topical scientific and socio-political problem, the core of which witnesses ideological rivalry in the territory of Ukraine during the Second World War by means of political prints. The paper covers the main tendencies on study of the issues related to creation, intended purpose, functioning and effect of political placard and cartoon for various categories of participants and contemporaries of the War, theoretical approaches to interpretation of events as they had been seen by the artists that fulfilled social/political job order. The reflection of ideological politics evolution of the USSR authority and propagandistic appearance of aggressive policy of the Axis Powers in direct agitation is covered by the thesis. The means and technologies of mobilization of the population in the occupied territory of Ukraine for execution of the occupation authorities' orders, for legitimation of "new order" and discredit of the Soviet system are analysed in the paper. The graphic prints of OUN (the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) and Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) are described.
