Essay

The thesis is devoted to the expansion of fuel base of city buses and improvement of their environmental performance through the use of biodiesel. A method was developed and driving cycle was suggested in which the rational speed of the bus was defined on the bus route and the distance between public transport stops when running on biodiesel. According to the research results with the use of biodiesel and subject to specified rational parameters of the bus movement the increase of fuel consumption by 10...12% and reduction of total mass emissions of pollutants with exhaust gases of diesel to 7% compared to diesel fuel were determined.
