The dissertation is devoted to the peculiarities of the use of cytogenetic monitoring in pedigree horse breeding of Ukraine in connection with the reproductive function. The connection of cytogenetic and reproductive characteristics of horses has been proved and the methodical methods for carrying out cytogenetic monitoring and optimization of the reproductive process in the stud farms have been substantiated.The connection of structural and number chromosomal aberrations with cryoresistance and fertilizing ability of the semen of the sires and with the reproductive ability of mares has been found out. The connection of morphometric characteristics of chromosomes with the reproductive function of horses has been revealed.
