Essay

The investigation of the theoretical aspects in the research of E. Felinska's memoirs in diachronic and synchronic literary discourse suggests, that entering the literary life of the Right-Bank Ukraine of the mid-nineteenth century with the article "Reflections on the Mankind Progress (Letter to the Publisher)" and the following "Memories from a Trip to Siberia..." and "Memoirs of Life", the author destroyed the existing stereotype of genealogic and gender match, as it was supposed that the genre of memoirs and travel require too much intellectual efforts and broad range of knowledge, that was not expected and required by the society of the time from a female author. Romantic and domestic stories were considered to be the best works for writing by the fair sex. Polish and Ukrainian researchers have developed a sufficient basement for analyzing memoirs of E. Felinska in the context of the research of literature of Romanticism. The researchers paid particular attention to understanding the category of border, in problematics, evolution and poetics of memoir literature in the formation and development of its genealogic paradigm.
