Object - structural-typological and communication features of coverage of social problems by means of television. The purpose is to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the coverage of social issues, and define its place in the transformation of Ukraine's national broadcasting channels. Methods - systematic approach, comparative-historical retrospective, situational and perspective, descriptive approaches. The dissertation is devoted to the research of features of social issues coverage on the Ukrainian TV channels. Having gained a foothold in journalism as a result of the revolutionary upheavals in Western Europe and the United States of the XVIIth - XVIIIth centuries, the appeal to social issues was intended to influence the improvement of human life in the society. The key point in the coverage of social problems became human-centric approach which transformed the social component in the organic part of the journalistic content. It is television that became one of the most important types of media to highlight social problems due to the specificity of TV communication, which allows penetrating into the depths of the audience's everyday existence. The significant experience gained by public television in the United Kingdom and Germany, and commercial TV in the United States, shows the ability of broadcasters to cover not only the specific social problems, but also set the "agenda" of the social life. The sphere is journalistic practice as well as a learning process.
