Essay

The thesis is devoted to study the age-related morphologic and functional features of the burned area of the skin and application of chitosan membranes for its healing. Сhitosan application stimulates formation of granulation tissue and structural components of the dermis, development of blood vessels and epithelization at the wound edge. Complete epithelization with formation of a thin scar took place in experimental animals at day 21. Lower efficacy of chitosan application in old animals may be explained by decreased receptivity of cells to effector influences.
