The сomplex research describes problems of student periodicals. Considered in particular the historical features of proposed conditional division of press on periods and submitted their response. In particular examined the historical features, proposed conditional division of the press periods and their characteristics. Described the features of modern student periodicals. Studied the state of scientific research in typology, proposed improved classification of student periodicals. Сonsidered the state of structure and design of modern student press and internet-newspapers, also studied stylistic features of students journalism. Described a thematic and meaningful content and its impact on the reading, defines the role of freedom of speech in the press for students, identified a problem of funding. Proposed the new ways of creating of student editions in order to overcome the problems of censorship and material support.
