Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the research of repressive policy of Hungary in Transcarpathia in 1938-1944. Hungarian regime persecution of Transcarpathian population on political and national grounds is considered in this work; local population forced labour scale and directions are as well researched. The initial stage of Hungarian repressions within the region is studied, throughout 1938-1939. Particular attention is paid to repressive punitive agencies system formation and function-ing in Transcarpathia throughout 1939-1944 and analysis of their activity is as well presented. Development ways of two major opposition movements: communist and Ukrainian national ones are highlighted. Repressive measures on national and racial grounds, in particular against two national minorities of Transcarpathia such as Jews and Roms, are researched
