Essay

Object: qualitative and quantitative traits of Lunaria annua and Lunaria rediviva Lunaria L. and their interspecific hybrids. Aim: establishment of features of inheritance of qualitative and quantitative traits of Lunaria L., their appearance, variability and correlation relationships. Methods: artificial hybridization, methods of genetic analyses, lightening microscopy, field experiment, methods of detection of morphological traits, in-door conditions experiment, methods of correlation and dispersive analysis and statistic methods. Novelty: A comprehensive study of inheritance and variability of qualitative and quantitative traits of Lunaria L. genus plants using of the interspecific hybrids of this kind was carried out in the first time. Results: The recessive and monogenic inheritance of the «white color of corolla» trait and chlorophyll-deficient mutation of «albina» type was established. It was found that the color and leaf tip shape inherited on the basis of incomplete dominance. It is shown that the development type of plant is controlled by monogenically and perennial type dominated over annual one. It was found cytoplasmic effect. Among the offspring of interspecific hybrids special «intermediate» plant development type was found. Reciprocal F1 interspecific hybrids inherit the size of leaf and pod by the principle of positive or negative overdominance and the «length of leaf plate wing» and the «number of chlorophyll a and b» traits as – an intermediate inheritance. Quantitative traits of leaf and pod are characterized by heritability coefficients at the level of 50-75%. The majority of quantitative traits of leaf and pod has weak links with each other, as well as the weak links with the type of plant development. Application stage: Obtained by individual selection from of hybrid populations of L. annua and L. rediviva reciprocal crosses samples are registered in National center of genetic resources of Ukrainian plants (Kharkiv). Application area: SIE of NAAS of Ukraine, MES of Ukraine7452
