The theoretical preconditions of the process of formation and development of economics in education have been systematically analyzed and cleared out, the state of practice and characteristic peculiarities of the content of educational subjects in the period under study have been found out. The periodization and key directions of development of ecological culture of the future economists in higher education institutions in the late XX - early XXI century have been singled out; the possibility of using historical experience of development of ecological culture of the future economists in modern institutions in the system of national education has been revealed.
