Khudish P. Transcaprathia in the context of Czechoslovak-Soviet Relations (1944-1948)

Thesis is dedicated to the research of political and migration processes in Transcarpathia in the context of Czechoslovak-Soviet relations in 1944-1948. The issues of mobilization to the Soviet and Czechoslovak armies are shown. The problem of establishing communication between the different actors of relations is presented, including secret communication. The international reaction to the annexation of Transcarpathia by the USSR highlighted in the reports of Polish, British, American, Swedish, Czech and Slovak press and Ukrainian diaspora in the USA is overviewed as well. The process of op-tation that was regulated by the protocol of the agreement about Transcarpathian Ukraine from June 29th, 1945 is investigated. Voluntary and forced repatriation from Czechoslovakia to the USSR, illegal border crossing of Czechoslo-vak-Soviet boundary, and the place of Transcarpathian Jews in migration processes were analyzed by the author.
