Traced the development of information advocacy policy of the Soviet power in the western regions of Ukrainian SSR since the first entrance of the Soviet army into these areas by 1953. The paper discloses the process of formation as well as structural and organizational buildup of the local bodies of information influence in the target region. The thesis analyzes the vectors of information effect on the local population; reveals its forms, methods and ways. It determines goals, objectives and consequences of information advocacy activity during the first and second wave of "Sovietization" of Western Ukraine.
