Essay

The paper focused in the theoretically grounded and experimentally proven ability to recover aviation oil properties using bubbling process which can help improve the efficiency of gas turbine engines. The evaluation of the accumulation of water in the gas turbine engine oil system of IL-76 during the operation has been carried out. The bubbling efficiency of oils has been investigated, the appropriate dependences have been obtained, the mathematical models have been created based on the results, and choice of bubbling devices parameters has been grounded. The dependencies of removing water and molecular oxygen from the aviation oils were experimentally obtained; mathematical models based on the determined dependencies were developed. The dependence that takes into account factors that influence the processes in the "oil-water-gas" system, bubbling device design features, and properties of aviation oils has been found. For practical realization of the proposed method, the bubbling setup for removing water and oxygen from the aviation oils during storage process, pre- and postflight preparations of aircraft turbine engines and conservation based on regular technical facilities of the state aviation has been offered. Key words: gas turbine engine oil system, aviation oil, bubbling treatment, rotor-bearing-support, efficiency improving.
