The thesis is a complex study of the development and status of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate in the South region (namely, on the territory of Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions) during the first post-atheistic decade. A number of significant problems are comprehensively and thoroughly studied on the base of a wide range of sources (of public and religious origin), monographic materials and informational potential of press.
