Petrenko A. The activity of the Kiev metropolitan Platon (Gorodetsky) on the administrative, religious education and missionary directions.

This thesis discusses the main directions of the administrative activities of Kyiv Metropolitan Platon (Horodetskyi) who was a brilliant ecclesiastical administrator and went down in history as an outstanding Archbishop of XIXth century. Variety of archival documents allow to consider such questions as: conversion of institutions of rural deans and spiritual investigators, restoring of traditions of convocations of bishops Congresses. The thesis is devoted to the problem of material and pension provision of Orthodox clergy in Kyiv Diocese during the governing of metropolitan Platon (Gorodetskyi). The numerous facts give us the grounds for thinking that the most important major engagement of the Metropolitan Platon (Gorodetskyi) in Kyiv was an independent on a one-day basis reconstruction of the ancient canonical conciliar nature of the Orthodox Church classical idea in Ukraine. That raised Bishopric of Kiev at the churchly administrational layer.
