Object of research – metabolism of reptile bone tissue. Objective of research – to substantiate pathogenesis, diagnostics and treatment of metabolic osteopathy in reptiles of three families due to the secondary fodder hyperparathyroidism based on clinical, radiographic, densitometric, biochemical and morphological methods; to elaborate the complex of diagnostic methods and effective treatment. Methods of research – clinical, radiographic, densitometric, morphological, biochemical and statistic. Scientific novelty. For the first time in reptiles it is established pathogenetic effect of motor activity restriction, lack of ultraviolet radiation, artificial composition of the diet. It is defined the leading pathogenetic links of metabolic osteopathy. For the first time it is proved diagnostic informativity of densitometric indicators for estimation of bone tissue condition at osteopathy, it is established it biochemical markers including for efficiency treatment estimation. Implemented: The results are used in scientific research and academic work in the departments of higher educational institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation, in the practice of veterinary medicine clinics "Dog+Cat" and "Vetlayn", Kharkiv.
