Essay

Such phenomenon as the Soviet information and propaganda activities within their struggle against independce desires of the Ukrainians is charachterized. Common and different features in spread of propaganda messages in the official documents (for a limited number of persons) as well as in mass distribution materials are defined. Tools used by the Soviet authorities to create negative image of the independentist forces are investigated. Correlation of the adversary nationalist image to the one formed among the population as a result or simultaneously to pro-government imposition is established.
