Myhajlova O. The presentation of social problems in modern mass media of Ukraine

The dissertation work is devoted to investigating the rules and principles of social problematics presentation in Ukrainian TV news. It has become the common tendency of TV news to gravitate toward the coverage and solving particular social problems (domestic abuse, homelessness, childhood problems, human trafficking, AIDS/HIV, healthy lifestyle topics, etc.). In the dissertation the main and evening-time TV news broadcasts of STB, 1+1, ICTV channels are analysed, particular materials are investigated with separating those ones which correspond to the pre-outlined criteria. The general tendencies of social problematics presentation are overseen and illustrated by particular examples. The recommendations regarding the rules and principles of the further presentation of social problematics in TV news are framed.
