Oleynik S. Social and geographical aspects of research of self-organization of the population in Ukraine

In the thesis revealed spatial features of self-organization of the population in Ukraine, the main tendencies of its activity and influence on social and economic development of regions of Ukraine. The identified the main forms of population self-organization and features of their spatial organization; the carried out the analysis of the major factors influencing concentration of forms of self-organization of the population in Ukraine. The improved methods and techniques of human-geographical research of formation of self-organization of the population in Ukraine. Prerequisites of self-organization of the population and factors influencing it are characterized, in particular influence of human-geographical, natural- geographical, historical-geographical factors; foreign experience and activity of the international programs/projects in formation of self-organization of the population in Ukraine are analyzed; the self-organization's role in reforming of local government and the administrative-territorial division of Ukraine is estimated. Ukraine's regions were classified and characterized in terms of socio-economic development. The main fields of forms of population self-organization in each type of regions are defined based on survey and the analysis of specifics of activity of different forms of population self-organization.
