Researched bladed weapons in the context of military affairs in the south-western Ukrainian lands in the XII-XIV centuries. Revealed factors that affect the features of tactical warfare with the use of bladed weapons. Analyzed the information about methods of preparation ancient Ukrainian warrior. Proved the concept of a professional soldier regarding to the studied period and the factors that depended on his skill level.
