Oliyanchuk A. Cossacks of Left-bank of Ukraine: social status and military duty (from the beginning to sixties years of XIX century)

The thesis is devoted to military duty performing by Left-bank Ukrainian Cossacks from the beginning to sixties years of XIX century. It has been determined the degree of topic's development in historiography. Source base of study has been analyzed and classified. It has been defined demographic and socio-economic position of Cossacks from Poltava and Chernihiv provinces. Social status of Cossacks has been analyzed. It has been studied stuff of Poltava and Chernihiv Cossacks regiments, their sources of formation and features. The attitude of Cossacks communities to military duty performing has been determined. It has been established reasons for Left-bank Cossacks regiments creation's in XIX century. It has been reconstructed the process of Cossacks regiments formation and their using in Russian empire military campaigns. It has been ascertained stuff numbers of Cossacks regiments and it changes during periods of their existence as well as their losses.
