Lisov O. Contemporary national historiography of the establishment and functioning of the Ukrainian intelligence and counterintelligence activity in 1917-1991.

It was revealed the features of the current stage of national historiography of the Ukrainian intelligence and counterintelligence activity in 1917-1991. In particular, it was analyzed historical and source study of Ukrainian scientists dedicated to the establishment and functioning of the Ukrainian national security services in 1917-1920, the intelligence and counterintelligence structures of the State Centre of the Ukrainian People's Republic, special units of the Ukrainian Nationalists Organization and Ukrainian Insurgent Army, soviet state security organizations in Ukraine. It was found the institutional framework, scientific and organizational mechanisms for research of the history of special services in Ukraine. It was classified the historio-graphical sources on the history of the Ukrainian intelligence and counterintelligence activity. It was covered the major directions of research on the history of intelligence and counterintelligence in the overall context of the study of military history of Ukraine in the ХХth century. Based on in-depth study of modern national military-historical works it was proposed scientifically grounded recommendations for further research on the history of the Ukrainian intelligence and counterintelligence activity.
