The essence of the key concepts of the research has been determined in the dissertation and their specific features have been revealed, the structure, goal, tasks and principles of functioning, level of development of the system of physical education of higher educational institutions in Poland at the end of the XX - beginning of the XXI century have been defined. The historical origins and genesis of the development of the system of physical education in the sphere of higher education of Poland at the end of the XX - beginning of the XXI century have been described. Conceptual basis for the development of the system of physical education in higher educational institutions in Poland have been established, perspective ways of modernization and implementation of the innovative teaching and educational technologies into the process of physical education of students of Poland have been established.
