The thesis is dedicated to investigation of linguopetics of Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky's works of different genres and its reproduction in the French translations made by Emile Kruba and Jean-Claude Marcad?. The data for study is represented by original works of M. Kotsiubynsky, in particular, the story "Shadows of forgotten ancestors", novels "Written in the Book of Life" "Intermezzo", "He is coming!", "The Duel", "On the Rock", "Apple-Tree Blossom", and its French translations made by E. Kruba ("Les ombres des anc?tres disparus", "Inscrit dans le livre de la vie","Intermezzo", "Il arrive!", "Un duel", "Sur le rocher", "Les Fleurs de pommier") and J.-C. Marcad? ("Les ombres des anc?tres oubli?s"). The topicality of the thesis is objectivized by the necessity of studying the perception of Ukrainian prose in French cultural space, determination of the role of translations of Ukrainian classic in the development of literary and cultural ties between Ukrainian and French peoples. The necessity of the diversified translatological analysis of the French translations of the Ukrainian classic prose, justification of the specificity of translation methods and techniques, as well as the lack of special scientific works dedicated to the rendering of M. Kotsiubynsky's works into the French language, have led the choice of subject of the research. It is for the first time the translations of M. Kotsiubynsky's works of different genres made by E. Kruba and J.-C. Marcad? are analyzed through a complex interdisciplinary linguopoetic methodology. The modes of reproduction of stylistic and genre peculiarities, lexico-semantic, lexico-stylistic, syntactic and phonographic peculiarities of M. Kotsiubynsky's works in the French translations made by E. Kruba and J.-C. Marcad? are examined.
