Medvedovska A. Holocaust in Ukraine in the public thoughts of the end of XX - the beginning of XXI c.

The object of the research is public opinion in Ukraine of the end of XX - beginning XXI c. The goal - to explore the process incorporation and functioning of the Holocaust as an ideological construct and historical phenomenon in the social thoughts in Ukraine of the end of XX - beginning XXI c. Methodological basis of the writing has been defined by the principles of historicism, objectivity and science, general scientific and general historical methods. Scientific novelty of the results of the study lies in the fact that for the first time all the main contexts in which the topic is appeared were comprehensively studied, foreign historiography of the Holocaust in Ukraine has been analyzed, its major trends and specific features, as well as the influence of the Western diaspora, and public opinion on the Ukrainian post-Soviet society in its attitude to the Holocaust. The practical significance of the thesis lies in the fact that its results can be used in the study of the Soviet and post-Soviet Ukrainian government policy on the formation of memory, researching dissident literature, cinema, historiography of the Holocaust etc. Usage: research and educational process.
