Ternovskyi A. The activity of assault battalions in Dnipropetrovs'k region in 1941 - 1945.

The object of research: assault battalions of NKVD of the period of the Nazi-Soviet War of 1941-1945. The aim of the research is the historical reconstruction of destruction battalions' activities in the Dnipropetrovsk region, determining their place and role in the system of Nazi aggression resistance during the Second World War. Methods: logical, systematic and structural; problem-chronological, diachronic, historical and genetic, comparative-historical, historical and typological. For the first time in the national historiography on the basis of unpublished sources and literature the history of assault battalions' activity of Dnipropetrovs'k region of the period of the Nazi-Soviet War of 1941-1945 is comprehensively investigated. The arrangement process of military and political training of the battalions is explored, the structure, military and rear activities is covered, in particular during the defensive battles. The role of assault batallions in the guerrilla formations arrangement of Dnipropetrovs'k region is found out and supplemented with the new facts about the guerrilla movement of the region, the activity of the rear, its forms of manifestation and efficiency in the aftermath of the liberation of the occupation forces and administration are formulated and summed up. The periodization of historiography of the investigated problem is developed and the periods of activity of assault battalions are singled out. Sphere of using - the educational process
