Object of research is the system of Vocational Education USA; subject of research is features of development of vocational education in American colleges late XX - early XXI century; purpose of the research is to conduct historical and pedagogical analysis of vocational education in US colleges at the end of the XX - XXI century and substantiate possibilities of creative use this experience in Ukraine; research methods: general scientific - analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, generalization, systematization, classification, comparison - have become the main means of studying various historical and pedagogical sources, by which the were identified stages of reforming and development tendencies of the vocational education in the USA; determined the system of vocational education of the USA; analyzed college programs of vocational education USA; the comparative analysis of vocational education in the US and Ukraine and identified perspective directions of using the experience of vocational education in US colleges in Ukraine; historical and pedagogical - historical-structural method ensured the development of a framework research, analysis of socio-historical background of vocational education in the US; chronological method gave the opportunity to trace the history of vocational education in US colleges in the late twentieth century and early twenty-first century, and the formation of the Ukrainian system of vocational education in this period; analytical method gave the opportunity to make a conceptual analysis of historical, philosophical, sociological, psychological, economic, pedagogical literature and documentary sources using systematization, comparison and synthesis; scientific novelty of results: conducted historical and pedagogical research of vocational education in US colleges late XX - early XXI century; determined six stages of development of the system vocational education in the United States; investigated the influence of market management, organizational and economic mechanisms on the process of modernization of vocational education USA; found the trends of service- and information-oriented economy of the USA and ways of their development in the area vocational education (transition from manufacture of workers in the services sector, the rapid development of the infrastructure sector).
