Essay

The dissertation is the first comprehensive study of research work of the faculty of higher pedagogical institutions of Ukraine in 60-90th years of the twentieth century. The role of the professor's research activity in the context of socio-historical changes is considered, its organizational and pedagogical conditions in the aforesaid period are characterized. The content and the tendencies of the faculty research work of higher pedagogical educational establishments are investigated and systematized. Scientific contributions of individual pedagogues of particular higher educational institutions to solving the problems of education, the theory and history of the Ukrainian pedagogy are analyzed. The pedagogical ideas of scientists and educators concerning the teacher's identity and training are systemized. Personalized knowledge of the scientific activity of researchers in the system of higher pedagogical education is specified. The features of the intensification of scientific research and the conditions for the implementation of its results in the educational process of secondary and higher education systems are revealed. The activity of industrial and problem laboratories in higher educational institutions, organizational and substantive forms of preparation and advancement of pedagogical and scientific training of teachers of higher educational institution as well as maintenance of complex target programs "Science", "Scientific Professionals" are analyzed. It is evinced that the subordination of the planning and coordination of research to the governance structure had ambiguous effect on the nature and content of scientific thesis. The conclusions about the relevance of scientific and pedagogical ideas of the teaching staff of higher educational establishments and the possibility of its implementation into the educational process, peculiarities of the integration of research and teaching activity, systematization and management of scientific research and training of highly qualified faculty in the context of Ukraine's integration into the European educational process have been made
