Marchuk O. Teachers of Ukraine in educational reform process during the Khrushchev’s «thaw» (late 1950s - early 1960s.)

The dissertation traces features of reformation of pedagogical staff preparation and advanced training system, as well as provision of general schools with teachers. It analyzes the dynamics of quantitative and quantitative composition of teachers and the state authorities’ influence on these indexes. It pays attention to specifics of ideological work with teachers and reveals peculiarities of teachers’ participation in agitprop work. The dissertation represents the place of teachers in the society of that time, change in the conditions of their labor and social security. Living conditions and standards of general school teachers are investigated. Based on actual material, rates of teachers’ wages are investigated. Prices for food and industrial products are analyzed, and the purchasing power of teachers is traced. The dissertation highlights the housing conditions of teachers, reflects provision of them with foods, electricity, land plots. Influence of political and ideological system on everyday life of teachers is highlighted. Contribution of teachers into formation of the population’s outlook is analyzed. Leisure of teachers is reflected.
