Object of research - liver diseases in dogs. The purpose of research - theoretically and experimentally substantiate informative methods for early diagnosis of fat hepatodystrophy in dogs, examine the therapeutic and prophylactic effectiveness of hepatoprotectors and develop a complex scheme of treatment for dogs with this pathology. Research methods - clinical, morphological, biochemical, instrumental, histological, histochemical, electron microscopy, statistical. Scientific novelty: substantiated reference values of bile acids in the blood of clinical healthy German shepherd dog breed, shown serum cholates changes in dogs with hepatodystrophy and treatment. Substantiated informativeness of some methods (sonography, biopsy, histological and histochemical research, electron microscopy) for diagnosis of fat hepatodystrophy. Established informativeness of enzymes, protein and cholates synthesis, pigment and lipid functions of liver to establish early informative diagnostic tests of fat hepatodystrophy and monitor the effectiveness of treatment. Substantiated the use of veterinary hepatoprotectors "Ornityl Plus" and "Hepatiale Forte" in complex scheme of treatment for dogs with fat hepatodystrophy. Implemented: The results are used in scientific and research work in the departments of higher educational institutions with III-IV accreditation levels, in practice of veterinary medicine center "Vetmed", veterinary clinics "EuroVet" and private clinic of veterinary medicine "Vetiko" in Lviv.
