Andreev A. Agitational and propagandistic activities of the Soviet repatriation authorities among the "displaced persons" from Ukraine (1944-1953)

Motivation, directions, forms, methods and features of agitational and propagandistic activities of the Soviet repatriation authorities among the "displaced persons" from Ukraine during 1944-1953 have been comprehensively investigated in the dissertation. The place and the role of ideological component of the Soviet repatriation authorities in Ukraine are analyzed on the basis of processed sources. The author has found the range of tasks that were persecuted by the totalitarian regime during the propagandist processing of the Ukrainian repatriates. Functional providing, objects, main directions, forms and methods of ideological, agitational and propagandistic activities among repatriates in the border zone and in areas of the Ukrainian SSR have been analyzed. The author has formulated some recommendations for usage of gained historical experience to develop effective public informational strategy that can counteract the informational aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine under current conditions.
