Essay

In the thesis, the organization of the production of iron of the Eastern Slavs during the second half of the 5th and 10th centuries was studied. The "nesting" character of the building of settlements was inherent in Antes, Sklavins and chronicles. The production of the iron of the Eastern Slavs was based on local raw materials and the use of «damps blowing» (puddling) furnaces – pit and ground shaft with slag’s discharge. Developed іntegrated maps of monuments of ferrous metallurgy of the Eastern Slavs.
