Essay

Target of research – selection of maize on the resistance to diseases and pests. Goal – development and identification of self-pollinated lines for resistance to main diseases and pests, identify the determining characteristics for the development of principles of selection of parental pairs while creating of corn hybrids resistant to complex entomo- and pathogens, adapted to the conditions of Right-bank Forest-steppe of Ukraine. Methods – field, laboratory, genetics and statistical. Results: isolated 8 of self-pollinated lines maize as potential donors of high resistance to damage by the frit fly, corn borer, head smut and corn smut. Are improved principles of selection of parental pairs for selection of hybrids on the resistance to diseases and pests. Been developed and introduced practical guidance on the determination of maize plant resistance to pathogens the frit fly, corn borer, head smut and corn smut. Novelty – for the first time in terms of Right-bank Forest-steppe of Ukraine defined valuable selective lines and hybrids of of maize on complex economic characteristics and isolated samples of of maizewith high resistance to pathogens sazhok bubble and fly, fly bars, corn borer; installed connections between the duration of the growing season and resistance to main pests.
