Melnyk O. Scientific, educational and social activities of Mykola Kovalski (1929–2006)

Thesis deals with the life and work of Ukrainian historian Mykola Kovalski and it is the first comprehensive study of its educational, research and community activities. The analysis shows the sources of well-known and little-known facts of biography, the basic directions of teaching, research and organizational activity of the scientist are defined. It is proved that the formation of skills M. Kovalski influenced by family and socio-cultural factors. During his studies he showed an interest in social sciences and humanities, including historical trends. Study at the History Department of Lviv State University named by Ivan Franko was important for the development of researcher, there he became involved in the activities of student scientific society.
