Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the Cossack officers of the Starodub regiment as an integral component of the social and political elite of the Ukrainian Cossack state of the second half of the XVII-XVIII centuries. Based on scientific literature and numerous sources, some of which are introduced into scientific sphere for the fist time, the research deals with the process of formation and further evolution of the Cossack Hetman community of the Starodub regiment in the context of its socio-political, military, cultural, educational and patronage activities.
