The thesis presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of career educationand guidance by Ukrainian and foreign scholars. Theoretical principles of careereducation and guidance of pupils in England are described; the development of thesystem of English career education and guidance is represented and the three periodsare defined on the basis of criterion of quality changes in the organizations andcontent of career education and guidance within the chronological range; the role andplace of career education and guidance in the system of education are defined, whichis implemented in the form of the National and school curricula: forms and methodsof career education and guidance are described; the comparative analysis of thedevelopment of career education and guidance in Ukraine and England is made; therecommendations of practical implementation in the area of career education andguidance in Ukraine are given on the basis of English experience of career educationand guidance.
