In the dissertation the development of the sanitary-hygienic education in Transcarpathian Region (the second part of the XIXth - the first part of the XXth century) has been analyzed from the position of a modern methodology; the main tendencies have been ascertained which influenced that process, the historiographic analysis of the investigated problem has been done in Ukrainian pedagogical science; the analysis has proved the absence of a complex investigation; the essence of the notion "sanitary-hygienic" has been revealed and enlarged from the point of view of modern pedagogical theories.
