Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the study of the content of leading Polish weekly news magazines "Polityka", "Newsweek Polska" and "Wprost" in 2011 - 2015. The wave of demonstrations and civil unrest in Ukraine (Maidan), the annexation of the Crimea and the war in Donbass have caused a sharp increase in the numerical amount of publications about Ukraine in 2014. Among them are: loud political events (the arrests of opposition leaders in 2011, Euromaidan, parliamentary and presidential elections in 2014, the conducting of the antiterrorist operation in the Donbass etc.), the manifestations of civil society (the activities of activists, volunteers and others), a certain international situation (for example, relations between Moscow and Brussels). It was found that our country is perceived as "neighbor", "conflict-affected country", "democratic country". Russia, on the contrary, perceived as "aggressor". It was established that there was a transformation of the image of Ukraine and Ukrainians. With the political and social changes in Ukraine (the Revolution of Dignity) was intensified attention to the Ukrainian question.
