In the dissertation research the theoretical analysis of the problem of development of education in Podillya in the first half of the nineteenth century was carried out. The socio-historical and pedagogical prerequisites that objectively influenced the formation of educational process in the region were found out; the peculiarities of the development of education in Podillya in the investigated period were determined. Western influence and national educational thought on the development of schooling establishment in Podillya, the peculiarities of educational thought in the region defined chronological limits were established. Based on the author's developed periodization, trends in the development of education in Podillya in the first half of the nineteenth century were identified. The regulatory and legal acts regulating the educational branch in the region had been explored and analyzed. The features of the content of education and organization of the pedagogical process were specified; the content of education was systematized according to the types of educational institutions. The analysis of the educational-methodical complex in schools of different levels was carried out. Further development of acquired research conceptual-categorical apparatus of Education in Podillya in the first half of the nineteenth century had been received, the establishment and activities of educational institutions for girls, organizational forms and methods of educational process in schools in Podillya in the first half of the nineteenth century were investigated, scientific and methodological achievements of the founders of educational thought in Podillya in the first half of the nineteenth century were analyzed, the practical implementation of research results in the modern educational environment were clarified. The main provisions of the study on the development of education in Podillya in the first half of the nineteenth century. Can be used in the preparation of courses, lectures and seminars and tutorials on the history of pedagogy, history of education regions in the system of postgraduate education, as well as in the study on local history lessons in schools. The research materials can become the basis for the organization of scientific circles and problem groups on the study of the history of the development of education in Ukraine in general and regional studies, in particular. The results of scientific research are presented in the guidelines for self-study of students within the course "History of Education" for all specialties: "Development of Education in Podillya in the first half of the nineteenth century", during the study of the students of the master's degree the discipline "Historical and pedagogical research", during the writing of diploma and master's degree papers.
