Ilyin V. Features of the post-war recovery and development of the Soviet heath care system in Kharkiv (1945–1991): historical aspect

The object of the research – the Soviet heath care system during the 1945-1991. The purpose of research: identifying features of the post-war recovery and development of the Soviet health care system in Kharkiv during the 1945-1991 against the background of the processes, which taking place in society. The methods: deduction and induction, analysis and synthesis, dialectic; problem-chronological, historical-genetic, historical- comparative, historical-system, methods of medical statistic. Scientific novelty: dissertation deals with the assessment of features of the post-war recovery and development of the Soviet heath care system in Kharkiv against the background of socio-economic and political processes; the stages and signs of extensiveness of Kharkiv medical network development are determined, the reason for the low level of financial security of medical stuff is explained and reasons for the chronic shortage of medical personnel are found; factors that contributed and hindered the tasks of public health, the connection between the priorities of the Soviet authorities and specific health measures carried by them are analyzed; the evolution of components of Kharkiv medical network is traced, rates of natural population growth, morbidity and mortality rates of Kharkiv population are found; the common features and peculiarities of the Soviet health care in Kharkiv are revealed. Practical value of research: materials of research can be used for writing generalizing works on the history of Ukraine, the history of the Soviet health care in Ukraine, on historical and medical ethnography, on historical urbanystic, to design of special courses on the history of health of Ukraine and Kharkiv n the medical and pharmaceutical universities, as well as of cultural, educational and museum and exhibition work.
