Ataman L. Socio-geographical studies of the sacred spaces of Podillia region

Spatial and dynamic peculiarities of formation and use of sacred spaces of Podillya region were revealed in the thesis. The concept of sacred space is specified. The functions, classification criteria and structural elements of sacred spaces are determined; the methodical bases of socio-geographical research of sacred spaces of the region are formulated. The key factors of formation and location of sacred spaces of Podillya region in different historical periods were identified. The peculiarities of the territorial-confessional, genetic and functional structures of the sacred spaces of Podillya region are revealed. The criteria of sacral-geographic regionalization have been proposed and tested on the case of Podillya region. Problems of use of sacred spaces of Podillya region are identified; and priority directions of use of sacred spaces for identified sacral-geographical regions are suggested. Tourist routes aimed at intensifying the use of sacred spaces are elaborated.
