Essay

Object of study: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; the goal is to improve the principles of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients' management by developing an algorithm for detecting somatopsychic disorders in consideration of the severity of the clinical course of the underlying disease; methods of investigation: clinical, instrumental, questionary method, functional, clinical-psychopathological examination of a patient by a psychiatrist, statistical methods; novelty: for the first time it has been established that the frequency and severity of anxiety and depressive syndrome are the highest in COPD patients with FEV1post <60% predicted and the score for CAT> 22, the lowest in patients with FEV1post > 60% predicted regardless of score for the CAT. It was ascertained, that the HADS psycho-diagnostic quesionnaire is the most informative for use in COPD patients. It has been established that somatopsychic disorders in COPD may be expressed by depression, anxiety, asthenic, asthenoneurotic syndromes, emotional labile and hysterical disorders, cognitive abnormalities, somatoform dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. It has been established, that treatment of somatopsychic disorders in patients with COPD may facilitate the perception of their symptoms of COPD. Scope - medicine.
