Matter:process of professional training of future teachers in the classical university; Aim: to substantiate theoretically, to develop and experimentally test the pedagogical conditions that contribute to increasing the effectiveness of shaping life competence in future teachers in the process of vocational training in a classical university; Methods: quantitative and qualitative analysis and synthesis of theoretical findings of foreign and Ukrainian scientists, induction and deduction to reveal classical university pedagogical training system peculiarities, matching, comparison, logical method for constructing causal relationships; method of systematization and generalization for formulation of judgments and conclusions, questioning, testing, interviews, surveys, observation, self-observation, self-evaluation, pedagogical experiment, quantitative and qualitative analysis of data using mathematical statistics (statistical processing of research results); Novelty: the pedagogical conditions of teachers-to-be life competence formation in the process of professional training in classical universities are theoretically substantiated, developed, and experimentally tested, which consist in: creating a life-oriented environment in the classical university as a means of realizing life competence in future teachers; directing students to the recognition of the risks and stereotypes of the teaching profession; acquisition of life experience on the basis of interaction with meaningful personalities at the stage of student's education; the conceptual-categorical apparatus is specified in particular: the concept of "life competence" in the aspect of the professional activity of a teacher; the structure of the phenomenon "life competence of a future teacher", the theoretical positions about the essence, structure, criteria, indicators and levels of developing life competence in future teachers; further development of scientific ideas concerning the professional training of future teachers, the specifics of classical university pedagogical education; content, forms and methods of forming life competence in future teachers in the process of vocational training in the classical university are actualized.
