Bobro S. Development of the composition and technology of a gel based on propolis and azelaic acid for treating acne

The thesis is devoted to substantiation of the methodological approach to development of the composition and technology of an apimedicine based on the natural and plant raw material, in particular the standardized substance of beekeeping products - the propolis phenolic hydrophobic drug (PPHD), as well as azelaic acid for local treatment of acne of the first and second degree. Based on the complex of physical, physicochemical, pharmacotechnological, biopharmaceutical, microbiological and pharmacological studies the composition of "Propolis-AC" gel for local treatment of acne has been substantiated; its rational manufacturing technology has been developed; the pharmacological activity and stability of the drug developed during storage has been proven. Using the comprehensive studies conducted the methods of standardization for "Propolis-AC" gel developed have been proposed; the project for Drug Quality Control Methods has been developed. The conditions and the shelf life of the gel have been experimentally determined. The inflammatory and antimicrobial actions of the drug developed have been found in the pharmacological and microbiological studies.
