The thesis deals with the problem of improving the treatment of children with infiltrates and abscesses of the abdominal cavity. The thesis is based on the analysis of the treatment results of 285 (100%) children. Infiltrates have been diagnosed in 78 (27.4%) patients, abscesses - in 207 (72.6%) patients. Рrimary infiltrates of abdomen have been diagnosed in 51 (17.9%) patients, and secondary infiltration of abdomen - in 27 (9.5%) patients. Primary abdominal abscesses have been diagnosed in 168 (58.9%) patients, secondary abdominal abscesses - in 39 (13.7%) patients. The etiological factor in all the cases have been acute appendicitis. The children are divided into the clinical groups: the comparison group II (1994-2004) and the group under research I (2005-2015). In the group under research there are 108 (37.9%) patients and in the comparison group - 177 (62.1%) patients. In the thesis the causes that provoke the formation of infiltrates and abscesses of the abdominal cavity have been examined; the scoring assessment scale of the patient's and the abdominal state has been developed, the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm for patients with infiltrates and abdominal abscesses and advanced surgical techniques have been suggested. The optimal diagnostic criteria of infiltrates and abscesses in the abdominal cavity of children of different age groups have been identified including informativeness, traumatic and safety of instrumental methods. Implementation of these techniques has made it possible to improve outcomes for children with infiltrates and abscesses of the abdominal cavity.
