Essay

Thesis deals with peculiarities of morphofunctional restructuring of the structural components of large salivary glands in rats with hyperglycemia. The presence of adaptive changes in early terms of observation in experimental hyperglycemia and further development and deepening of destructive and sclerotic changes in vessels of parotid and submandibular glands with increasing duration of hyperglycemia were established. Takes place venous plethora, narrowing of lumen of parotid and submandibular gland’s arteries of small diameter and expansion of arteries with middle diameter. With increase duration of hyperglycemia till 2 and 3 months established vasoconstriction progression in small and larger arteries of salivary glands. Simultaneously in hyperglycemia the structural and spatial restructuring of arteries occurs, which contributed to a decrease of vascular resistance and were more significant with increasing duration of hyperglycemia. Reorganization of serocytes and mucocytes of the salivary glands acini in accompanied by damage of nuclei and cytoplasmic organelles. At the same time destructive changes of intralobular ducts epithelium were found. Established changes of parotid and submandibular gland’s parenchyma components worsened synthetic processes and excretion of protein and mixed secret. The most prominent structural changes were found in parotid and submandibular glands in 3 months of experimental hyperglycemia.
