Vovk L. The Society of «Uchytelska gromada» in the social and cultural life of Galicia (1908 – 1939)

Object: political, cultural and educational processes in Western Ukraine. Methods: systematization, typology, retrospection, problem-chronological, historical-comparative, critical-analytical, biographical. Results: for the first time the organizational structure and directions of activities of the "Uchytelska gromada" were analyzed in a complex way, transformation of the programmed provisions of the community has been researched, the geography of the community's distribution was described, the periods of "decline" / growth of its role in the public and cultural processes of Galicia were shown, qualitative / quantitative composition of "Uchytelska gromada" at each of the historical spots (Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Western Ukrainian People's Republic (ZUNR), Second Commonwealth), the activity of leaders of the community are founded out, the organization attempts to establish contacts with international teachers' associations are considered; the factual material related to the creation and activity of the teaching societies in Galicia in the first third of the XX century, biographical information of the leaders of the "Uchytelska gromada" was improved. Field of use: in the development of special courses, lectures on the history of culture of the first third of the XX century, as well as in the preparation of interdisciplinary collective monographs devoted to national-cultural processes in the Western Ukrainian lands during their stay in the Austro-Hungary, ZUNR and Second Commonwealth.
