Protsenko V. Formation and activities of the educational trade union in the USSR in the 1920s.

The work contains the research concerning formation and activities of the educational trade union in the USSR in the 1920s. The statutory and organizational structure is studied and the numerical composition of the union is shown. The participation of the educational trade union in solving material and social problems of workers in education and science sphere was analyzed. By participating in the rate and economic work, the teachers' trade union aimed to improve the rate setting and conditions of work of teachers, together with public authorities to ensure the increase and differentiation of their salaries. The rate and economic work of basic organizations of the educational trade union had no systematic character until the mid-1920s, but in the second half of the 1920s it increasingly gained the formal signs through the process of nationalization of the trade unions.
