Verkhoturova M. Artillery of 14-18th centuries from the funds of the Lviv Historical Museum: the history of the formation and characterization of the collection

Object: a collection of cannons of the XIV-XVIII centuries in Lviv Historical Museum. Purpose: to carry out the attribution of the collection of cannons of the XIV-XVIII centuries in Lviv Historical Museum, illuminate the production of artillery in the 14th-18th centuries in Lviv and follow the process of forming the collection of artillery XIV-XVIII centuries in Lviv Historical Museum. Methods: analysis and synthesis, typology, logical, systemic-structural, historical-comparative, problem-chronological. Results: for the first time the collection of artillery XIV-XVIII centuries was explored in Lviv Historical Museum, the stages of formation of the artillery collection of the XIV-XVIII centuries in Lviv Historical Museum are highlighted, systematized, analyzed and erected in a single catalog a collection of artillery XIV-XVIII centuries in Lviv Historical Museum, to study the material of cannons of the XIV-XVI centuries the method of the metallographic analysis was used, certain questions on the history of artillery production in Lviv in the XIV-XVIII centuries were specified, the source base of the research topic, the history of the formation of the Lviv Historical Museum funds. Scope of use: for writing generalization papers on military history, reference and encyclopaedic articles, making of educational and teaching aids, preparing of special courses in military history.
