In this thesis the essence and structure counseling in the system of professional activities of the social teacher revealed; foreign experience of school-based counseling analyzed; interpretation, basic features and directions of counseling activities of the school social teacher are presented. Criteria, indicators and efficiency levels of counseling activities in secondary schools revealed. Organizational and pedagogical conditions of the social teacher in secondary schools substantiated (systematic updating of the role, purposeful designing of the content and directions, diversity of forms, methods and techniques, expansion of the directions of advisory activity of a social teacher; promoting the creation of the socially adequate counseling environment; the regular work on the development of professional competence in the area of advisory activity). Its effectiveness tested in practice. Methodic recommendations to improve counseling skills of social teacher prepared.
